Myofascial Therapy

What is Myofascial Therapy?

Myofascial Therapy is a targeted, hands-on approach that focuses on the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, joints, and other structures throughout the body. When fascia becomes restricted or less adaptable, it can contribute to tension, discomfort, and limited movement.

Using sustained, intentional techniques, myofascial therapy aims to restore tissue mobility, reduce restriction, and support more efficient, comfortable movement.

How Does Myofascial Therapy Work?

Myofascial Therapy works by applying sustained pressure to areas of restriction, allowing tissues to gradually release and adapt. Rather than forcing change, the approach encourages the body to respond over time.

Treatment may be helpful when:

  • Movement feels limited or restricted.

  • Tension does not respond to traditional massage approaches.

  • There is a need for slower, more specific tissue work.

  • Supporting long-term mobility and recovery.

Sessions are adapted to your presentation, goals, and how your body responds to treatment.

Who may Benefit from Myofascial Therapy?

Myofascial Therapy may be beneficial for:

  • Individuals experiencing persistent tightness or stiffness.

  • Those with movement restrictions or reduced mobility.

  • People managing chronic or recurring discomfort.

  • Individuals recovering from injury or repetitive strain.

  • Anyone noticing areas that feel “stuck,” dense, or difficult to release.

*Myofascial Therapy may not be suitable for everyone. Please ensure all relevant health information is shared during your intake and discussed with your RMT so your treatment can be safely and appropriately tailored to you.*
